Introducing a Speaker
Introducing a speaker means that you are shining the spotlight on someone else – this is not the time to tell the audience how great you are since (for example) you went to school with the speaker.
This is what you have to do:
- Explain to the audience the importance of the topic to them – the audience.
- Name the speaker (Note: correct name and correct pronunciation. You do not want the speaker to come on stage and tell the audience that her name and the way it was pronounced was incorrect.).
- Explain to the audience why this particular speaker was chosen to speak on the given topic (for example, he has earned a PHD on this particular topic and therefore is an expert.)
